Owner Jim Krasnov earned his BBA degree from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Upon graduation, he worked as a financial analyst at General Motors Financial World Headquarters in New York City. After leaving General Motors, Jim acquired a waste-disposal and recycling business that he expanded and ran for 15 years. During that time he also acquired a sand mining business.
After the sale of these businesses he started Advanced Polymer Repairs from scratch, selling and installing high-performance epoxy coatings to industrial, commercial and institutional accounts. Always looking for the best solutions for his clients, Advanced hired Sharon Hwang, a Yale Educated chemist to develop products that were not commercially available. Specifically, a line of products that would adhere to virtually any substrate, including stainless steel.
These products include 100% epoxy concrete repair systems, anti-corrosion, abrasion resistant, elastomeric and other Surface Protection Systems. We are constantly searching for products that fill our customer’s needs and have developed relationships with trusted suppliers of various high-performance epoxy and polymer coatings. If we can’t find a suitable product commercially available, we will develop it in house.
Over the years, Advanced Polymer Repairs developed a regional and then national reputation for providing the finest products and services in the industry. Our customers, who are key decision makers in a variety of industries, rely exclusively on Advanced for their toughest surface protection problems.
Jim expanded the business very slowly and carefully, always being mindful of his main philosophy of business success:
• Treat your customers as you would like to be treated
• Stand behind every product and service you provide
• Make long-term relationships
• Turn customers into friends
Being reluctant to expand by hiring sales people, Jim took a different approach. Find high quality engineers and technical people who could consult with customers and help them solve their problems. Technical ability was critical but integrity was even more important since these people would be representing a business that was built on 15 years of integrity and honesty.
Advanced Polymer Repairs is fortunate to have a core of key people with impeccable integrity and honesty:
